The Essence of Light

Artist Nhat Quy (real name Vo Van Quy) was born in Hue city, Vietnam – a land rich in cultural and artistic traditions. He graduated from Hue University of Arts in 2003, and since then has persistently pursued his journey of painting creation, especially with a richly expressive abstract language.
Nhat Quy is currently the founder and manager of NhatQuy Artgallery at 60 Le Loi, Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City - a place to display and introduce his works as well as a space to connect art with the public. In addition, his personal studio is located at 10 Thai Phien, Hue, where he spends most of his time on artistic work, research and creative experimentation.
With a persistent passion, Nhat Quy soon studied light and drawing, notably successfully copying the masterpiece Adam and Eve. It was these efforts that were recognized by a familiar painter in the family.
His family discovered and encouraged him, which motivated him to pass the entrance exam to Hue University of Arts in 1998. In 2003, Nhat Quy graduated with a major in silk painting from Hue University of Arts. A year later, he founded NhatQuy Artgallery at 60 Le Loi, Hue - an art exhibition space closely associated with his creative career.
