Artist Nhat Quy

Painter Nhat Quy (real name Vo Van Quy) was born in 1973 in Hue, Vietnam - a land of heritage, rich in cultural and artistic traditions. Since childhood, he was passionate about painting, often copying classical paintings in old books and magazines. He experimented with painting materials in a very innocent way, even using burlap sacks from flour bags to practice his skills. With a persistent and relentless passion, Nhat Quy soon studied light in painting and exploited colors more effectively and beautifully in paintings. He had certain successes in painting, which became the motivation and belief for him to pass the entrance exam to Hue University of Arts in 1998.

In 2003, Nhat Quy graduated from the Hue University of Arts, majoring in painting and silk. A year later, he founded Nhatquy Artgallery at 60 Le Loi, Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City – an art exhibition space closely associated with his creative career. His personal studio is currently located at 10 Thai Phien, Phu Xuan Ward, Hue City, where he spends most of his time working on art, creating and experimenting with abstract painting.
